Plymstock Hooe & Oreston is a largely residential area situated on the eastern side of the River Plym, opposite Plymouth's city centre. The neighbourhood is characterised by post-war housing estates, local shopping parades, and pockets of older terraced homes. Its position along the river provides views across to the Mount Batten peninsula and the sound.

The area features the Oreston Quay, a historic point for loading Plymouth limestone. A network of quiet, wooded footpaths follows the riverbank, leading to the Hooe Lake inlet, where a small boatyard and moorings are nestled.
