Poulton

Poulton ward lies on the western edge of Lancaster, bordered by the River Lune to the north and the Lancaster Canal to the south. The area is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of housing from different periods, alongside local schools and community facilities. Its layout is defined by several main roads that connect it to the city centre and the coastal route towards Morecambe.

The ward includes the distinctive Poulton Square, a central green space surrounded by homes. The Lancaster Canal runs through its southern boundary, offering a linear route for walking and cycling. Historically, this was a separate village, and its integration into the city is reflected in the presence of older buildings near the church of St. Mark the Evangelist on West Road.
