Preston and Shorton are neighbouring areas in Torbay, located between Paignton and Torquay. The area is primarily residential, with a mix of housing styles including detached homes, bungalows, and smaller terraced properties. Preston is known for its proximity to Preston Sands, a popular beach with easy access to the South West Coast Path.

Shorton, situated just inland, offers quieter streets and green spaces like Shorton Park. Both areas have local shops, schools, and bus routes connecting to nearby towns. The historic Preston Baptist Church and the nearby Cockington Country Park add to the area’s character. The seafront features cafes and a promenade, while the hinterland provides a more suburban feel.
