Renhold & Ravensden

Renhold & Ravensden ward encompasses a primarily rural expanse to the north of Bedford town. The area is characterised by agricultural land, small woodland pockets, and the villages of Renhold and Ravensden themselves. Settlement is dispersed, with a mix of older housing and newer developments. The ward is bordered by the A421 road, which provides a major transport link, and the River Great Ouse flows along its western boundary.

The landscape is dominated by open fields and the subtle contours of the Bedfordshire claylands. Community life centres on the village halls, local pubs, and parish churches, such as the Church of St. Mary's in Ravensden. A notable feature is the presence of the former RAF Twinwood Farm airfield on the ward's edge, historically linked to the final flight of Glenn Miller. The area maintains a distinctly separate identity from the urban centre to the south.
