Ryde South East ward covers the eastern coastal fringe of the town, stretching from the suburban edges near Ashey down to the expansive sands of Appley Beach. The area is primarily residential, characterised by Victorian and Edwardian terraces closer to the town centre giving way to more modern housing estates as you move eastward. Its coastline features a popular promenade and the long, shallow waters of Puckpool Bay, which are favoured by paddlers.

The ward includes the historic Puckpool Park, a former Victorian battery now containing public tennis courts and gardens. Inland, the landscape rises gently with streets offering views over the Solent towards Portsmouth. The area is served by local shops along Springvale and has direct access to Ryde’s main transport links, including the Hovercraft terminal, though this sits just outside the ward's western boundary.
