Severn Vale North

The Severn Vale North ward encompasses the northern rural expanse of the Tewkesbury borough, characterised by flat, open farmland and the wide floodplain of the River Severn. The landscape is dominated by agricultural fields and scattered farmsteads, with the river and its associated drainage channels forming a key part of the area's topography. Settlement is sparse and primarily consists of small, historic villages like Chaceley and Forthampton.

The area's identity is intrinsically linked to the river's presence, with a network of raised flood defences defining the views. The Mythe Bridge, a notable early 19th-century iron structure, crosses the Severn here, connecting to Tewkesbury. Economic activity is largely agricultural, with the land use and community life heavily influenced by the seasonal rhythms of the river and the management of flood risk.
