Shephall

Shephall ward occupies the northeastern edge of Stevenage. The area is primarily residential, characterised by post-war housing estates built as part of the original New Town development. These include a mix of terraced houses, semi-detached homes, and low-rise flats. The ward is bordered by the A1(M) motorway to the east, which defines its boundary and contributes to the area's layout. Local amenities are focused around a community centre and several small parades of shops serving the immediate neighbourhood.

Green space is provided by Shephall Park, which features playing fields and a children's playground. A specific local landmark is the Shephall Baptist Church, a distinctive modern brick building on Poplar Drive. The area is also home to The Thomas Alleyne Academy, a secondary school with a history dating back to the 16th century, though its current site is within the ward. Transport links include regular bus services connecting residents to Stevenage town centre and the railway station.
