Shevington with Lower Ground & Moor

Shevington with Lower Ground & Moor is a ward located to the northwest of Wigan's town centre. The area encompasses the main settlement of Shevington alongside the smaller communities of Lower Ground and Shevington Moor. Its landscape is characterised by a mix of residential streets, local retail services, and pockets of green space, including playing fields and agricultural land on its fringes. The ward is primarily residential in character, serving as a commuter area with good road links to Wigan and the wider motorway network.

A notable local landmark is the historic St. Anne's Church, which sits at a prominent elevated position within the village. The ward contains several primary schools and community facilities that serve its neighbourhoods. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal passes through the western edge of the area, providing a route for leisure activities. Land use transitions towards more open countryside in the northern parts of the ward, near the boundary with Standish.
