Southwick and Wickham

Southwick and Wickham ward lies on the northern edge of the city, characterised by residential streets and local community amenities. The area includes a mix of housing, from post-war developments to more recent builds, centred around the district of Southwick. It is bordered by the M3 motorway to the west and farmland to the north, giving it a semi-suburban feel. Local facilities include primary schools, shops, and several parks and green spaces for residents.

The ward is notable for its significant areas of protected downland, including parts of Farley Mount Country Park. This open access land provides extensive walking trails and views across the Hampshire countryside. The presence of the Worthy Down military establishment also contributes to the local character. Community life is focused around local centres, with regular bus services connecting the ward to Winchester city centre and surrounding villages.
