Stockton Heath & Hillcliffe

Stockton Heath is a suburban village directly south of Warrington town centre, situated on the northern bank of the Manchester Ship Canal. The area is primarily residential, with a compact, linear shopping centre along Walton Road and London Road offering independent retailers and cafes. Its layout is defined by the canal to the south and the Bridgewater Canal to the north, creating a distinct peninsula.

Adjacent to the east, the Hillcliffe area occupies elevated ground overlooking the canal, characterised by steep, wooded slopes and residential streets. The sandstone cliffs of Hillcliffe provide a distinct natural topography within the suburban setting. A network of public footpaths traverses the woodland, connecting to the canal towpaths below and offering views across the waterway.
