Tillingbourne

Tillingbourne ward occupies the southernmost section of Guildford, bordering the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its landscape is defined by the gentle slopes of the Hog's Back to the north and the wooded commons of the Greensand Ridge to the south. The area encompasses the historic village of Chilworth, with its residential streets set around the church and common, along with more modern housing developments situated on the higher ground.

The ward takes its name from the River Tillingbourne, which flows through Chilworth. This watercourse historically powered the local gunpowder mills, remnants of which can still be seen in the village. The area is largely residential, with local amenities centred on Chilworth's shops and facilities. The surrounding network of footpaths provides direct access onto the North Downs Way and other trails into the Surrey Hills.
