Tunstall

Tunstall sits in the northern part of Stoke-on-Trent and is one of the six towns that make up the city. The town centre is organised around a market area and a High Street with shops, cafés and pubs, and it retains a pattern of 19th-century terraces and former pottery works that shaped local streets. Manufacturing for tableware and sanitaryware was a major force in the town’s growth, and that industrial past is still visible in brick workshops and yard layouts. Community facilities include schools, sports clubs and civic centres, and market days bring traders into the centre. Buses provide direct links to Stoke city centre and neighbouring districts, while small industrial estates support light manufacturing and service firms. There are public parks, allotments and short walks that local people use for recreation, and recent redevelopment has focused on modernising shopping frontages and finding new uses for former industrial plots.
