Waterfront North

Waterfront North covers the central docks along the River Mersey, including the historic Pier Head. The area is defined by maritime infrastructure and transport terminals, serving ferries and cruise ships. Its architectural landscape is dominated by the early 20th-century Three Graces, a prominent riverside grouping. The Mersey Ferry terminal operates regular commuter and tourist services from this point, connecting to the Wirral peninsula.

Immediately inland, the ward contains the extensive Liverpool Waters regeneration site, focusing on the northern dock system. This includes the Stanley Dock complex, with its vast Tobacco Warehouse, a brick-built structure that was once the world's largest warehouse. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal terminus enters the river here at Canning Dock. The area functions as an active port zone alongside ongoing large-scale redevelopment of former docklands.
