Welford-on-Avon

Welford-on-Avon ward encompasses the large village of Welford-on-Avon itself and the smaller neighbouring settlement of Weston-on-Avon. The area is situated on the west bank of the River Avon, roughly four miles south of Stratford-upon-Avon. The landscape is characterised by open farmland and the river's floodplain, with the historic village core centred around its large green and medieval church.

The parish church of St. Peter dates to the 12th century and features a distinctive wooden spire, a rare survival in the region. Local life is closely tied to the river, with a public mooring and a historic ferry crossing point. The area maintains a mix of agricultural activity and residential development, with the main A439 road providing a key transport link through the ward.
