Widcombe & Lyncombe

Widcombe & Lyncombe occupies a steep, wooded valley on Bath's southeastern fringe. The area is defined by the River Avon and the Kennet and Avon Canal, which run parallel through its base. Victorian terraced housing climbs the slopes of Lyncombe Hill, while Widcombe's streets contain a mix of Georgian and later period homes. The ward functions largely as a residential suburb for the city centre, which lies directly across the river.

The district is connected by the historic Widcombe Manor and the two-tiered, stone-arched Tucking Mill Viaduct carrying the railway. Local life centres on Widcombe's high street, with its independent shops and pubs, and the recreational path along the canal towpath.
