Wilmorton & Alvaston Village

Wilmorton and Alvaston Village lie just east of Derby city centre, linked by a short stretch of the River Derwent. Alvaston Village is organised around its parish high street, while Wilmorton occupies the riverbank and adjoining residential streets. Housing ranges from short terraces to semi-detached homes and newer infill developments. Local commerce is concentrated along Church Street and Alvaston Road, with frequent bus services into the city and basic services such as shops, GP practices and a handful of schools serving residents.

The area includes Alvaston Park, which provides open space, play areas and a crescent-shaped boating lake used by model boat clubs and casual visitors.
