Woodley South

Woodley South is the southern part of Woodley, within the Borough of Wokingham. It is mainly residential, with local shops, a library and community facilities concentrated near the town centre. Schools, small parks and sports pitches sit among the housing, and local groups use the community halls for events and clubs. Street patterns reflect mid-20th century expansion, with a mix of terraces, semi-detached homes and later infill developments clustered around the main shopping parades.

Road and bus routes link Woodley South to Wokingham and Reading, and there is no railway station in the town so buses are the main public transport option. Part of the area occupies land once used for light aircraft work and the former Woodley aerodrome, which is still remembered in local street names and some surviving hangar outlines on historical maps. Short walks from the southern neighbourhoods bring you to riverside green corridors and local allotments that have served households for decades.
