Woodside ward occupies the southwestern corner of the Haringey borough in North London. It is bordered by the boroughs of Enfield and Barnet to the west, with the North Circular Road forming a significant part of its northern boundary. The area is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing, alongside inter-war and post-war estates. Its main commercial hub is located around Wood Green High Road, which lies just outside its eastern edge.

The ward includes the historic Bruce Castle Park, a large green space centred on a 16th-century manor house that now serves as a museum and archive. The park's grounds contain London's oldest surviving tennis courts, dating from the 1890s.
