It is bordered by the boroughs of Enfield and Barnet to the west, with the North Circular Road forming a significant part of its northern boundary. Its main commercial hub is located around Wood Green High Road, which lies just outside its eastern edge.

The ward includes the historic Bruce Castle Park, a large green space centred on a 16th-century manor house that now serves as a museum and archive.
