Aspley

Aspley sits northwest of Nottingham city centre and is mainly residential. Much of the area grew as council housing through the mid 20th century, and the street pattern mixes terraces, semi-detached houses and low-rise flats. Aspley Lane provides a local spine of shops, takeaways and small businesses, and regular bus services link the area to the city and surrounding suburbs. Everyday services are concentrated along a few main roads, so most trips for groceries, schools or short errands can be done within the neighbourhood.

Community facilities include a local library, primary schools and a secondary school site that serves the area. Parks and playing fields are scattered through the estate and there are allotments on the northern edge, offering space for sport and growing food. The River Leen runs close by and can be seen from some of the northern streets, and local groups run youth and community activities from the community centre and sports pavilions. Overall Aspley is a residential district focused on local services and neighbourhood facilities.
