About

Bedworth is a market town in the Nuneaton and Bedworth borough of Warwickshire, centred on a High Street and a small market area. The A444 runs close to the town and provides direct links to nearby roads. Local facilities include a library, leisure centre and several primary and secondary schools, with parks and sports pitches around the edges of the town. Public transport connections serve the town centre and industrial estates to the north and south.

The town expanded in the 19th century around coal mining and ribbon weaving, and the legacy of that growth is visible in long rows of terraced housing and former pit sites now repurposed for housing and light industry. A memorial recreation ground and community buildings host seasonal events and local clubs, while volunteer-run groups maintain a brass band and allotments that remain part of everyday life. Street patterns and some surviving industrial buildings reflect the town’s industrial past and continuing community networks.
