Bicester West

Bicester West covers the western part of Bicester town in Cherwell, made up largely of residential streets, small commercial parades and local community facilities. The area contains a mix of housing from different periods, primary schools, and playgrounds that serve neighbouring streets. There are several community centres and sports pitches used by local clubs, and a network of footpaths that link housing areas to local shops and allotments. Local buses run through the ward, providing regular links to the town centre and other parts of Bicester.

On the western edge of the ward the former RAF Bicester site has been repurposed, with large hangars and workshops now used by vehicle restoration and specialist engineering businesses, plus occasional public events on the airfield perimeter. Pockets of open space and community-managed allotments break up the built area, and long residential roads give way to short lanes and cul-de-sacs closer to the old airfield. Day-to-day life here centres on schools, clubs and the small high-street outlets that serve nearby streets.
