Bishop Auckland North & Coundon Grange

Bishop Auckland North and Coundon Grange is a ward on the northern edge of Bishop Auckland in County Durham. It includes post‑industrial neighbourhoods and stretches of housing built to serve 19th and early 20th century coal workings. Rows of terraced houses sit alongside later council estates and pockets of open space. Street patterns and property boundaries still reflect former pit entrances and wagonways in places, and small community allotments have been established on former backland.
