About

Bishopstoke is a village and civil parish in the borough of Eastleigh, Hampshire, lying beside the River Itchen on the east side of Eastleigh town. The area is mostly residential, with local shops, primary schools and a community centre clustered around Church Road. St Mary’s parish church stands near the village centre and the recreation ground provides pitches and play space used by local clubs and groups. Rail and road links put the village close to the wider Southampton and Winchester corridor while keeping a village scale to the streets and housing.

The River Itchen runs through Bishopstoke and its chalk-stream character shapes the riverside: clear water, grassy banks and linked water meadows that support trout and kingfisher sightings and attract anglers. A network of riverside paths follows the Itchen through and past the village, used for walking and cycling. Local volunteers and parish groups manage green spaces and small conservation projects that focus on the stream and meadows alongside everyday community services.
