Bulkington

Bulkington is a village in the borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth, Warwickshire. It sits inside the borough boundary and developed as a linear settlement along a central street. During the 19th century the local economy included ribbon weaving and coal working, and traces of that industrial past can still be seen in older stone and brick buildings around the centre. St James' Church stands close to the main shopping stretch and the village war memorial marks the junction of two of the older roads.

Today Bulkington combines local shops, a primary school, sports pitches and community facilities used by residents across a wide area. Regular bus services link the village with Nuneaton, Bedworth and Coventry, while footpaths run out to surrounding farmland. Community events take place on the recreation ground and in the village hall, and a series of short terraces and former weavers’ cottages remain along the main road, reflecting the pattern of settlement that shaped Bulkington’s streets.
