Caister South

Caister South ward is a residential area situated on the northern edge of Great Yarmouth. It is primarily composed of housing estates built during the mid-to-late 20th century, offering a mix of detached and semi-detached homes. The ward is bordered by farmland to the west and north, creating a distinct transition from urban to rural landscape. Local amenities are centred around a few main roads, providing essential shops and services for the community.

The defining feature is its proximity to the expansive sandy beach at Caister-on-Sea, which lies directly to the east beyond the golf course. This coastline is historically significant as the site of a Roman fort. Inland, the area is characterised by straight, orderly streets and several small green spaces, including the playing fields at Caister High School. The overall atmosphere is quiet and suburban, with the North Sea a constant presence.
