About

Castle ward is a coastal district in the centre of Worthing, directly facing the English Channel. The area is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing alongside modern apartment blocks. Its main thoroughfare is Brighton Road, which carries significant traffic through the area. The ward's boundary extends inland to include parts of the town centre around Worthing Railway Station.

The seafront is dominated by the Worthing Lido, a large outdoor swimming and leisure complex open year-round. Immediately to the west lies the green space of Beach House Grounds, home to public lawns, a cafe, and the town's cricket pitch. A distinctive feature is the presence of the Southern Water pumping station, a prominent circular building on the promenade near the lido.
