About

Crookham West and Ewshot is a primarily residential ward on the southern edge of Hart district. It is characterised by villages and housing estates, with significant areas of surrounding farmland and woodland. The Basingstoke Canal forms a natural boundary to the north, while the A323 runs through the area. Settlement includes Church Crookham, a large village adjoining Fleet, and the more separate village of Ewshot to the south, creating a mix of suburban and semi-rural environments.

The ward contains several military connections, most notably the former Airborne Forces Museum located at the Browning Barracks site. Large tracts of Ministry of Defence land, including training areas, shape the local landscape and limit development. Ewshot is known for its historic cricket green, a traditional village focal point. The area provides local amenities and schools, with much of the working population commuting to nearby centres like Fleet, Farnborough, or further afield.
