Deeping St James

Deeping St James is a ward within the town of Market Deeping in South Kesteven, Lincolnshire. It lies on the western side of the River Welland, which historically formed the boundary with neighbouring Deeping St Nicholas. The area is primarily residential, featuring a mix of housing developments and older properties. Local amenities include shops, schools, and community facilities centred along Church Street and Spalding Road.

The ward's character is shaped by its historical connection to the river and the surrounding fenland landscape. A notable feature is the early 18th-century St James' Church, built from Ancaster stone, which stands near the site of a much older medieval chapel.
