Derrylin

Derrylin ward lies in the southern part of Fermanagh and Omagh district, centred around the village of the same name. The area is characterised by a mix of low-lying farmland and small drumlin hills, with Upper Lough Erne's intricate network of waterways and islands forming its eastern boundary. This landscape supports primarily agricultural activity. The ward includes the smaller settlements of Letter and Corranny.

The locality is traversed by the main A509 road, a key transport link. A notable local feature is the presence of several crannogs, ancient artificial islands, within the lough's system. The surrounding wetlands are significant for biodiversity. Social and economic life is focused on the village, which provides essential local services for the rural community.
