Dukinfield East & Hough Hill

Dukinfield East & Hough Hill is a ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, Greater Manchester, covering the eastern side of Dukinfield and the area around Hough Hill. The River Tame runs close to parts of Dukinfield and the ward sits next to other Tameside communities such as Hyde and Ashton-under-Lyne. Housing is mainly a mix of 19th-century terraces and later mid-20th-century developments, with local parades of shops and primary schools serving everyday needs. The built form still shows traces of the town’s industrial past in brick mill buildings and former colliery sites.

Community facilities include small greenspaces, a recreation ground and volunteer-run groups that organise local events. Hough Hill rises above the surrounding streets, and from its upper roads there are wide views across Tameside when visibility is clear. Bus services connect the ward with other parts of the borough and beyond, while local governance and services are provided by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.
