About

East Leake is a large village situated in the Rushcliffe borough, positioned roughly between the city of Nottingham and the town of Loughborough. The area is characterised by a mix of residential development and open countryside, with the River Soar forming part of its western boundary. Historically, its economy was linked to the now-closed gypsum mines, which have left a legacy in the local landscape.

The village centre retains a traditional feel with independent shops and local services clustered around its main streets. A notable feature is the presence of two historic church spires, St. Mary's and the Methodist church, which define the skyline. The surrounding area includes farmland and the expansive Stanford Training Area, which provides a significant tract of green space to the south, used for military exercises and public footpaths.
