Fivemiletown

Fivemiletown ward encompasses a largely rural landscape of low hills and agricultural land in the southern part of Mid Ulster. The area is centred on the small settlement of Fivemiletown itself, which functions as a local service hub along the main A4 corridor. The surrounding townlands feature a mix of active farms, smaller woodland patches, and dispersed housing, with the land primarily used for pasture and some arable farming.

The ward's geography is defined by its position within the Clogher Valley, with the Colebrooke River flowing through the area. A notable local landmark is the Colebrooke Estate, with its extensive parkland and historic house. The local economy has traditional ties to agriculture and agri-food processing, with the landscape characterised by quiet country roads and views towards the bordering slopes of Slieve Beagh.
