The River Misbourne runs through Great Missenden, and footpaths and beech woodland follow the slopes of the Chiltern escarpment. Great Missenden railway station is on the Chiltern Line with services to London Marylebone and Aylesbury. The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre on the High Street records the author’s years living in the village and preserves his writing hut as part of its displays.
