Gunton & St Margarets

Gunton & St Margarets is a coastal ward in the Lowestoft area, characterised by residential streets and direct access to the North Sea. The area includes the suburban neighbourhood of Gunton and the more distinct coastal settlement of St Margarets, which sits on low cliffs. Its eastern boundary is defined by the shoreline, featuring a mix of sandy beaches and eroding cliffs. The land use is primarily housing, with local shops and services concentrated along main roads like Corton Long Lane.

A notable feature is the isolated, historic St Margaret's Church, which stands alone on the cliff top surrounded by open space, separate from the main residential areas. The ward contains areas of caravan parks and holiday accommodations, reflecting its seaside location. Inland, the landscape transitions to quieter suburban housing and some light industrial estates near the railway line, which marks part of its western boundary.
