Hammersmith Broadway

Hammersmith Broadway is the transport and commercial centre at the heart of Hammersmith and Fulham. The Broadway sits above the main bus station and the Piccadilly and District line platforms of Hammersmith tube station, while the Circle and Hammersmith & City line station on Beadon Road is a short walk away. Several bus routes start, end or pass through the interchange, and the A4 (Great West Road) runs through the junction, including the Hammersmith Flyover which carries traffic above street level. A covered shopping arcade and concourse sit directly over the bus station, linking the transport hub with King Street and surrounding office and residential blocks.

King Street runs west from the Broadway and contains shops, cafés, and the Lyric Hammersmith theatre on Lyric Square. The area mixes commuter infrastructure with local retail and evening venues; taxis queue at the rank outside the station and pedestrian routes connect to nearby streets. Freight and coach access is routed around the gyratory, and the cluster of ticket halls, bus bays and covered walkways gives the Broadway its characteristic layout.
