Hanham

Hanham is a residential area situated on the eastern fringe of Bristol, within the unitary authority of South Gloucestershire. The locality is primarily composed of suburban housing, ranging from Victorian terraces to more modern developments, set along the slopes above the River Avon. It functions largely as a commuter settlement for Bristol, with local shopping facilities concentrated along Hanham High Street and the surrounding roads.

The area's historical connection to coal mining is subtly reflected in some street names and the remaining green spaces that were once part of larger estates. A notable local landmark is the Hanham Mount, a prominent wooded hill offering views across the Avon Valley.
