Harpurhey North

Harpurhey North sits in the northern part of the Harpurhey district, a little over three miles north of Manchester city centre. The area is made up of late 19th-century terraced streets alongside inter-war and post-war council housing, with local shops and services concentrated around the district centre and along main routes such as Rochdale Road. The River Irk runs through the wider Harpurhey area; where it is not culverted it forms a narrow green corridor that cuts across the street pattern and links pockets of open space.
