About

Hendon ward is a primarily residential area in the London Borough of Barnet, situated to the west of the A41 and north of the A406 North Circular Road. It contains significant green spaces, including the expansive Brent Reservoir, also known as the Welsh Harp, which provides a large area for water sports and wildlife. The ward is anchored by Hendon itself, a district with a historic core centred on Church Road and the 11th-century St Mary's Church.

The area is home to Middlesex University's main campus and the Hendon campus of the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies. Its housing stock is a mix of interwar semis-detached homes and later apartment developments. The presence of the Metropolitan Police's training college and museum on Aerodrome Road is a notable local institution, reflecting the area's historical connection to aviation and policing.
