About

Hook Heath is a residential suburb to the west of Woking town centre in Surrey. The area was laid out as a suburban estate in the early 20th century and many streets still show that plan: long plots, private drives and mature trees along curving roads. A conservation area covers part of Hook Heath, preserving groups of houses with brickwork, tile-hanging and leaded casement windows that reflect Arts and Crafts influences. Small pockets of woodland and planted verges sit between properties, giving a semi-rural feel within the borough.

Local amenities are limited, so most shopping and services are taken care of in Woking town centre a short drive or bus ride away. Road connections put the A3 and the M25 within easy reach for longer journeys, while frequent rail services from Woking station provide links into London and the wider region. Community life tends to revolve around street-level networks and local green spaces rather than a single high street, and the retention of original plot sizes means many homes have sizeable gardens.
