Hunslet & Riverside

Hunslet & Riverside is a ward in south Leeds, centred on the old industrial district of Hunslet and stretching to the River Aire. The area is characterised by a mix of industrial estates, modern logistics hubs, and residential streets, reflecting its historical role in the city's manufacturing and engineering past. The landscape is largely urban, with major transport routes like the M621 motorway running through it.

A key feature is the Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills, located just outside the ward's northern boundary, which speaks to the area's heritage. Within the ward itself, the Leeds Dock development on the south bank of the river has introduced contemporary apartment buildings and office spaces. The Clarence Dock area, with its moorings and waterfront paths, provides a distinct contrast to the inland industrial zones.
