Kenton & Starcross

Kenton & Starcross is a coastal ward in Teignbridge, centred around the estuary of the River Exe. The area includes the village of Kenton and the larger village of Starcross, which sits directly on the Exe's western shore. Its geography is defined by low-lying land, creeks, and views across the water to Exmouth and the Haldon Hills. The ward contains a mix of residential housing, local shops, and services catering to its settled community.

The shoreline features a long stretch of public path, part of the South West Coast Path, which runs alongside the railway line. A notable local landmark is the pumping station at Starcross, a remnant of the area's historic Brunel-designed atmospheric railway. Economic activity is connected to the estuary, with a small ferry operating to Exmouth and a yacht club. Inland areas consist of farmland and the grounds of Powderham Castle, which lies just outside the ward's boundary.
