About

Kingsand sits on the southern edge of the Rame Peninsula, its narrow lanes stepping down to a small harbour protected by stone piers. Rows of tightly packed cottages line the streets above a shingle beach, and fishing boats still work from the quay at high tide. The South West Coast Path runs close by, linking the village to headlands and coves along the peninsula and providing clear views over the channel from the seaward side of the settlement.

Antony and Maryfield lie a short distance inland, on lanes that cross farmland, orchards and pockets of woodland. Antony is centred on a country house with formal gardened grounds and parkland that drop toward the Lynher estuary; paths lead from the village out toward riverside viewpoints. Maryfield is a scatter of hamlets and farmsteads where narrow lanes meet public footpaths, used by walkers moving between the coast and the countryside. Local farms, field boundaries and stone walls shape the pattern of settlement across this part of southeast Cornwall.
