Lache

Lache ward sits on the southern edge of Chester, primarily characterised by residential housing estates built in the mid-20th century. The area is bordered by open farmland and the Shropshire Union Canal to the south, providing a distinct rural boundary. Its layout is functional, with local amenities concentrated along Lache Lane. The ward contains several large areas of public green space, including the expansive playing fields at Lache Park.

A notable local feature is the presence of the 'Lache Walls', which are the substantial earthwork remains of a Civil War siege fort from the 1640s. This historical site is integrated into the modern housing layout, with some streets curving around its preserved banks.
