Lady Bay

Lady Bay sits on the south bank of the River Trent as part of West Bridgford in Rushcliffe. The area is mainly residential, with a mix of early 20th-century terraces and later suburban housing laid out around a small network of streets. A narrow riverside path runs along the bank and at low tide a short stretch of shingle and mud is exposed, which locals use for walking and angling. Street trees and pocket greens break up the built form and small local shops and public houses serve day-to-day needs.

Community life centres on small parades, a few independent cafes and clubs that host seasonal events and practical services. Traffic routes connect the neighbourhood to surrounding parts of the borough, while pedestrian routes along the river encourage short walks. Housing plots back onto the riverside in places, creating a sequence of gardens and riverside views that change with the tides. The pattern of streets, the riverside path and the stretch of foreshore give Lady Bay a clear riverside character.
