About

Lambeg ward lies along the western banks of the River Lagan, forming part of the city of Lisburn's southern fringe. The area is primarily residential, characterised by suburban housing estates and quieter local roads. It is bordered by the main Belfast to Lisburn railway line, which provides a transport link. The landscape includes some open green spaces that slope down towards the river, offering views across the water towards the Castlereagh Hills.

The ward is home to the historic Lambeg Church and its surrounding graveyard. The former Lambeg village core, now absorbed into the suburban spread, retains a distinct local identity. Industrial heritage is present through several converted linen mill buildings along the river, which once drove the local economy. The area functions largely as a commuter base, with many residents travelling to Lisburn city centre or Belfast for work and services.
