Longdon

Longdon ward encompasses a primarily rural expanse on the eastern edge of the Malvern Hills district. The area is characterised by rolling farmland, scattered woodlands, and the hamlets of Longdon Green and Rye Cross. The terrain slopes gently towards the River Severn floodplain, with fields bounded by traditional hedgerows. The settlement pattern is one of isolated farms and historic houses rather than a central village, creating a quiet, agricultural landscape.

A notable feature is the presence of several large meres, including Whitesione and Ryemere, which are remnants of medieval fish ponds. The ward contains sections of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, where it passes through the hamlet of Parkgate. Longdon Marsh is a significant area of wetland pasture. The local church, St. Mary's in Longdon, is built using stone from the nearby Woolas quarries.
