Mid Test

Mid Test ward covers a rural portion of central Test Valley, characterised by its agricultural landscape and scattered settlements. The area is defined by the River Test, which flows through the ward, supporting watercress beds and fisheries. Land use is primarily given over to farming, with a mix of arable fields and livestock pasture. The settlement pattern consists of small villages and hamlets, such as Longstock and Horsebridge, connected by narrow country lanes.

The ward includes a notable stretch of the Test Way long-distance footpath, following the river valley. Economic activity is closely tied to the land, with farming and related industries being central. The presence of several historic water mills along the river speaks to its long-standing importance.
