The Minehead Outer & Porlock area sits where Exmoor meets the Bristol Channel, running west from the seaside town of Minehead to the settlements around Porlock and Porlock Weir. Minehead contains the coastal holiday resort and the terminus of the West Somerset Railway. Exmoor National Park rises shortly inland, and the South West Coast Path follows the shoreline here.
