Morecambe Westgate

Morecambe's Westgate area sits directly along the town's main seafront promenade, facing the expansive sands of Morecambe Bay. The district is primarily residential, characterised by Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses, many offering guest accommodation. The central focal point is the Midland Hotel, a prominent 1930s Art Deco building that anchors the coastline with its curved white facade. This stretch provides direct access to the long, curved stone jetty known as the Central Pier.

The area functions as a quiet residential neighbourhood with a strong connection to the coastal environment. It is a linear zone following the promenade, containing local shops, cafes, and traditional guest houses that cater to visitors.
